With the release of 1.01, and following my previous Tip of the Week regarding pulling off the All in Strategy, I find it necessary to be able to counter this devastating rush with some consistency.
Countering an All in StrategyWhen the game starts, it is vital that you scout your opponent successfully. If you are left without any scouting, you are susceptible to attack and won't have proper time to counter your opponent.
If you see that your opponent has sold their MCV or gone for an unorthodox looking strategy that could spell early game trouble, you should do a few things.
Infantry is your friend. You should station some infantry around your tiberium field, as that is where your opponent will be headed. You should also hold off on building a second Refinery, depending on how aggressive your opponent's rush looks. If it is an
All in Rush for Nod, then build a second Harvester, and depending on your faction, build a solid unit that can take some damage. A Devourer, Predator, or Scorpion tank would work since they all can take a beating.
Don't bother having more than two Harvesters for tiberium harvesting, and don't build more than one Refinery until you manage to keep your opponent at bay. Remember, his economy is dwindling much faster than your own after about three minutes. One thing to keep in mind is if your opponent sold their MCV, the longer the game continues, the stronger your economy will be, and the weaker theirs will be.
Countering all in strategy can be very difficult, however if you keep calm and stay smart by protecting your tiberium fields, and maintaining your unit production, you will be able to hold off your opponents forces, make it to mid game, and exploit their weakened late game.
